Peace Corps at UC Davis

The Peace Corps is an international volunteer organization operated by the U.S. government. The Peace Corps sends Americans abroad to tackle the most pressing needs of people around the world. Peace Corps Volunteers work with local communities at the grassroots level on initiatives that create sustainable change, impacting thousands of lives well beyond the 27 months of service. Peace Corps Volunteers have worked in 141 countries since the program was founded in 1961, working from Asia to Central America, and from Europe to Africa. See the Peace Corps' map for locations.

In each of these countries, Volunteers work with governments, schools, and entrepreneurs to address changing and complex needs in education, health and HIV/AIDS, business, information technology, agriculture, and the environment. When they return home, Peace Corps Volunteers bring their knowledge and experiences—and a global outlook—back to the U.S., enriching the lives of those around them.

UC Davis is a top volunteer-producing university and frequently has a Peace Corps recruiter on campus. Please log into Handshake to see availability.
